Trademarks & Badge Use
The Teleon marks, what you may do with them without asking, and the rules for displaying a Certificate of Trust badge. The badge rules are strict for one reason: a badge that can be faked is worth nothing to the people who read it.
This document is published for review. Entity registration details and the designated EU and UK representatives are still to be supplied, and appear below as marked placeholders. Until they are filled in, treat this text as a draft rather than as the executed agreement, and ask legal@teleon.ai for the current signed position.
The marks
The following are trademarks of Teleon, Inc.:

None of these marks is currently registered in any jurisdiction. Teleon claims common-law rights arising from use in commerce, which in the United States are protected against confusing use under section 43(a) of the Lanham Act, and elsewhere under passing off and unfair-competition law. Where a registration is granted in future this page will say so and the ™ will become ® for that mark in that territory. Until then, do not use ® with a Teleon mark, including in your own materials, where doing so can itself be an offence.
Third-party names appearing in Teleon materials, cloud providers, model providers, frameworks, compliance frameworks, are the marks of their respective owners, used descriptively. Their appearance implies no endorsement of Teleon by them, or of them by Teleon.
Referring to Teleon without permission
You do not need a licence to refer to Teleon truthfully. Nominative fair use is not something we can take away, and we would not want to.
You may, freely
- Say that your product uses, integrates with, or is governed by Teleon, in plain text.
- Write comparative or critical reviews, benchmarks and analyses, including unflattering ones.
- Use the name in documentation, a talk, a blog post, an academic paper, or a job listing.
- Refer to Teleon in the SDK and package names we publish, as documented.
When you do
- Use “Teleon” as an adjective attached to a noun, “the Teleon gateway”, “Teleon governance”, not as a verb or a plural. Do not write “Teleoned”.
- Spell it with a leading capital and no other styling. Do not incorporate the mark into your own product name, logo, domain, package name, social handle or company name.
- Do not present the relationship as more than it is. “Built with Teleon” is fine. “Teleon-certified”, “Teleon-approved”, “in partnership with Teleon” and “Teleon-compliant” are not, unless the underlying claim is true and we have agreed it in writing.
The Trust Badge
The badge is different from the wordmark. It is not decoration and it is not a licence to display an image: it is a live assertion about a specific Agent, backed by a signature that a reader can verify. Its whole value is that it cannot be faked, which is why the rules below are narrow and enforced.
Who may display it
- Customers on the Business or Enterprise plan, whose subscription is current.
- For an Agent that Teleon has issued a badge for, and only for that Agent.
- For as long as the subscription and the badge remain active. The right ends when either ends.
How it must be displayed
- Served live from the endpoint Teleon provides, so the state a reader sees is the state the signature asserts right now.
- Unmodified: original artwork, colours, proportions and wording.
- Linked to the Agent’s public Trust Report, so a reader is one click from the evidence.
- In a context that makes clear which Agent it covers, where a page presents more than one.
What you may not do
- Screenshot it. A frozen image is the exact failure the badge exists to prevent: it keeps asserting a state that may since have changed.
- Recolour, redraw, crop, rotate, animate, add to or subtract from the artwork.
- Display a badge state that does not match the live signature, including a cached “verified” after revocation.
- Display a badge for an Agent that has none, or reuse one Agent’s badge for another.
- Alter, forge or strip the signature, the Trust Report, or the link between them.
- Continue displaying it after your subscription ends or the badge is revoked.
- Imply that the badge is a certification by a standards body, an audit opinion, or a regulatory approval. It is Teleon’s signed assertion about observed behaviour, and nothing more.
When an Agent’s behaviour falls below the threshold, the badge stops verifying. That is the product working. Preserving a passing appearance through a screenshot, a cached asset or a modified artefact is a misrepresentation to whoever reads it, and under section 6 of the Acceptable Use Policy it terminates the account immediately, without the usual notice and cure.
Press, partners and co-branding
Journalists, analysts and conference organisers may use the Teleon logotype to illustrate coverage of Teleon, in its original form, without asking. Please do not stretch it, recolour it, or place it on a background that makes it illegible.
Co-branded material, partner badges, joint announcements and any use suggesting a formal relationship need written agreement in advance. Write to sales@teleon.ai.
Teleon may name a customer publicly only where that customer has agreed in writing, per section 18 of the Terms of Service. The same courtesy applies in reverse.
Enforcement
Teleon enforces these rules through the subscription agreement first. That is deliberate: a contractual obligation against a customer is quicker and more certain than a trademark action against a stranger, and the badge programme is a contract in the first place.
- For a customer: notice, a period to cure, then suspension of badge issuance and, for forgery, termination under the Acceptable Use Policy.
- For a non-customer: a request to stop, then whatever remedy passing off, unfair competition or section 43(a) of the Lanham Act affords in the relevant territory.
- For a forged or stripped badge in either case: revocation of the underlying artefact, so the forgery stops verifying wherever it is displayed.
Report a misused or forged badge to trademark@teleon.ai. Include the URL and, if you can, a screenshot with a timestamp, that is the one place where a screenshot is welcome.
